Aaron Rome hit on Nathan Horton = concussion, major penalty, game misconduct, 4 game suspension, missed Stanley Cup Final

Zdeno Chara hit on Max Pacioretty = broken vertabra, major penalty, game misconduct, no suspension

Stupid NHL = the purchase of a satellite dish for the enjoyment of various European hockey leagues. 

(No debate about illegal nature of Rome’s hit, issue is the NHL’s inconsistent officiating on and off the ice)

This is incredible. 

While browsing over articles at First Things I came across this piece by David Bentley Hart. I enjoy his writing in general, but this is hilarious. 

Shame on me.

All morning I had been standing here in my office with the window open, and only at 11:57 am have I now heard the birds singing outside. 

Simple anytime project: find branch, cut to length, remove bark if desired, drill hole, attach rope, tie weight on end. It will be irregular, but so is life. Now go get some forearms.

Game Over.

At least for this year. The Canadiens lost last night. Looks like I am cheering for the Canucks. 

Although Vancouver fans probably want to puke right now as game 7 goes into overtime, these games are why I love playoff hockey.

Update: what a beautiful win for the Canucks. Congrats.
